Claroline - Open Source eLearning and eWorking Platform

Looking for an effective, affordable solution for developing online courses and managing web-based learning activities?  You might want to check out Claroline, an Open Source eLearning and eWorking platform currently being used by 899 organizations in 84 countries. These renowned eLearning platform has a large user and developer community across the globe.

The development of Claroline began in 2001 by the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, with financial support by the Fondation Louvain.  In 2007, the Claroline Consortium, an international non-profit was formed.  The consortium is dedicated to coordinating the development of the Claroline platform and promoting its use. 

To see what users are saying about the Claroline Platform, visit the user forum.  If you are interested in trying Claroline for yourself, you have several options.  You can download a demo version of the program if you just want to experiment with it. 

If you want to create an course with the platform, you can join the official Claroline campus.  The “official campus” provides free hosting for courses developed with Claroline, up to 20 mb.

Claroline downloads are available for Windows, Unix, Linux, and Mac.  Claroline can also be downloaded to a server, including a web server (preferably Apache), PHP 4.3.10 or newer, and MySQL server 4.0 or later.
