    How Not to Design Instruction for E-Learning

    The worst way to approach development of materials for E-learning is to take all of the lecture materials you use for your lecture-based classes and put them into a web delivery system.  Unfortunately, this is how many people tend to approach their initial entry into the E-Learning arena.  Keep in mind that reading notes from a website is still just reading notes.   

    Would you walk into a traditional classroom on the first day, hand your students your class notes, and tell them that you’ll see them on exam day?  If you did choose to take this approach, assuming you did not get fired from your job before exam day, would you honestly expect the students to have gained any meaningful knowledge or skills related to the subject matter of your class?
